Kiskey'Art: Binational Cultural Cooperation Through Art and Music
As part of the European program Ann Viv Ansanm for binational cooperation between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, FOKAL and the Azuei artistic movement engaged ArkoConsulting to provide strategic support and structure the Kiskey'Art project, a cultural cooperation program between the two countries of the island of Hispaniola. The Ann Viv Ansanm / Convivencia program, funded by the European Union, aimed to strengthen ties between Haiti and the Dominican Republic through cultural cooperation and intercultural dialogue.
The Kiskey'Art project, led by FOKAL and the Azuei artistic movement—a binational collective of musicians, painters, and filmmakers—represented the cultural component of this program, with the ambition of building a sustainable network of artists and cultural organizations on both sides of the border.
ArkoConsulting supported the project across multiple areas: assistance in organizing the first binational artistic residency (San Cristobal, May-June 2022, bringing together 21 artists), support for mobilizing the island-wide tour of 9 free concerts across both countries featuring the Artybonito album and street art workshops, design of a binational strategic communication plan, creation of a mapping of artists and cultural organizations in both countries, and development of the bilingual French-Spanish web platform kiskeyart.org, which includes a member directory, navigation by artistic discipline, and a module for collaborative cultural projects.
Five cascading cultural exchange projects were selected through a call for proposals, extending the momentum of the residency and tour into local communities in both countries.
