Strengthening CSOs and supporting cultural projects in Haiti

Institutional capacity-building partnership with the FOKAL Foundation in Haiti The Connaissance et Liberté Foundation (FOKAL), a key player in Haitian civil society, has established a multi-year partnership with ArkoConsulting to strengthen its project management capabilities, enhance its monitoring and evaluation tools, and develop its strategy for accessing European funding. FOKAL is one of the most structured foundations in the Haitian associative landscape, working in the fields of education, culture, governance, and civil society strengthening. In a context where Haitian organizations seek to diversify their funding sources and professionalize their program management practices, FOKAL wished to benefit from long-term support to strengthen its internal skills. ArkoConsulting provided flexible technical assistance, both on-site and remotely, under a partnership protocol lasting one to three years. The interventions included facilitating workshops on tools, methods, and approaches for accessing EU funding, supporting the development of project documents (logical frameworks, budgets, monitoring and evaluation systems, mapping), training FOKAL’s team, and sharing approaches initiated by ArkoConsulting’s team in other contexts. This partnership enabled FOKAL to structure its program management tools and enhance its ability to respond to calls for proposals from European and international donors.
