Arko's approach to supporting civil society is based on a dual combined intervention: supporting local civil society actors and adapting funders' financing mechanisms to their realities and capacities.
Component 1 — Supporting Local Actors Arko works directly with local civil society organizations (CSOs) to strengthen them, starting from their contexts, constraints, and actual capacities.
Component 2 — Supporting Funders Concurrently, Arko assists funders in adapting their financing mechanisms to the effective capacities of these local actors — in other words, evolving funding requirements and modalities to align with ground realities rather than the reverse.
Core Objective This combined approach aims to place civil society actors at the heart of development efforts, empowering them to define their own priorities — rather than being mere executors of projects designed by external actors.
